Design & Build Review
The compact chassis put it among the SFF desktop computers. Its small form factor makes it an ideal workstation for small offices. It comes in a 290 x 292 x 92.6mm black body that weighs about 12.32lbs (5.59kg). The right and bottom sides have small pads which allow you to place it horizontally or vertically. Thus, you can set it on your desk as you deem fit without scratching its body.

This is a compact, lightweight body design that is easy to lift and relocate. Mainly, ideal for people who do not have much space but need powerful Core i7 PCs. The Precision 3440 provides both power and compactness at a price that is hard to ignore in UK.

Ports & Connectivity
Dell Precision 3440 features a fair share of ports on both front and rear sides. Dell has done well with the port distribution while equipping it with all the necessary connections.

The front panel features the power button on the top right corner. Below it is a single 3.5mm audio jack placed beside an SD card reader slot. Then there are two USB-A 2.0 ports, one offers fast charging for smartphones. Beneath these two ports is a USB-A 3.1 port placed with the modern USB-C connection. Sadly, it lacks Thunderbolt 3 technology, but this is a decent set of ports.

On the rear side, it carries two traditional USB-A 2.0 ports. Also, there are four more USB-A 3.1 ports to connect peripherals. Dell has loaded the Precision 3440 with a Gigabit Ethernet and two DisplayPort connections. There is an HDMI output and a mini-jack audio line which can be used as an output connection.

Hardware selection on Precision 3440
Now let’s take a look at the inner components of the Dell Precision 3440. As highlighted, the processor on it is the Core i7-10700. This is an Octa-Core processor with 16 cores and 8 GT/s bus speed. With 14 nm lithography, it has a similar layout that we get on Core i9-9900. The base frequency is 2.9GHz whereas it can deliver up to 4.8GHz when needed. This is a powerful Core i7 processor from Intel 10th generation that can handle tough tasks.

In addition to the UHD 630 integrated graphics, there is a 16 GB memory. It worked well with the processor when we evaluated its performance for the Precision 3440 review. The addition of SSD storage puts it among the best Dell PCs for office work.

Then there is the Windows 10 Pro OS that offers additional benefits and features. features like Cloud security support, remote device access, and extra protection of data are ideal for small business owners and professionals. The pro version allows you to connect your team network so that you can efficiently work from home.

Overall, this is a balanced set of hardware with a fast RAM and speedy processor. However, the SSD storage is not a lot, which we advise you to upgrade later.

Performance Review
Desktop computers usually lacks in one area or the other, but not Dell PCs. We were pleased with the performance during our Dell Precision 3440 review. It lived up to our expectations like other Core i7 PCs. We used it for browsing, word processing, spreadsheeting, and light media editing. The 10th generation Intel Core i7-10700 was quick in data retrieval, thanks to its 6MB cache.

We opened more than eighteen Chrome tabs while streaming HD+ videos in two tabs. The Precision 3440 did not slow down as we were able to jump between tabs smoothly. There was no lagging or screen stuttering when we were streaming videos. We witnessed the same seamless experience when we were working on online designing tools.

We ran the Office suite to test the multitasking capability of Dell Precision 3440. It provided quick access to the stored data files while managing large excel sheets was fun. We did not hear the fan starting noise when we were working on extreme tasks. Overall, the Precision 3440 remained cool and there was little to none overheating.
